ERP System Integration as a Foundation for Scalable Process Automation for an ERP-System
This project focused on delivering a scalable ERP System Integration by developing a custom Web App directly connected to the customer’s ERP environment. The primary goal was to enable end-to-end Process Automation and significantly improve operational efficiency by integrating business processes with a modern, service-oriented web architecture.
The implemented Website ERP Integration provides real-time access to ERP data stored in a MSSQL-based system and allows users to trigger and monitor automated workflows through an intuitive frontend. By introducing structured data flows, validation layers, and automated processing logic, the solution enhances Business Process Automation while reducing manual workload and error rates. Core processes such as data synchronization, approvals, and reporting are executed automatically and consistently across systems.
From a technical perspective, the architecture is based on a decoupled integration approach using a PEST API layer to expose ERP functionality via RESTful services. A dedicated Laravel-based middleware layer was implemented to encapsulate business logic, handle authentication, and orchestrate communication between ERP and frontend services. Microsoft Power Automate was additionally used to enable event-driven workflows and cross-system automation as well as integrated authorisation processes. This modular setup supports scalable ERP Extensions and flexible ERP Data Integration without impacting the core ERP system.

The backend architecture, built with Laravel, acts as a central middleware layer connecting the ERP system with a modern microservice-based frontend developed using Vue.js. This separation of concerns enables scalable development, independent deployments, and flexible extension of business functionality without modifying the ERP core.
The project included the development of custom user interfaces, role-based workflows, and automated backend processes tailored to specific business requirements.
